The Nebraska Counseling Association was originally founded and filed with the Secretary of State office on April 29th, 1968 as the Nebraska Personnel and Guidance Association. Original signers on the articles of incorporation were Richard O'Neal, Don O. Clifton, and James Keller. Yes, that's right, Don Clifton of the Clifton Strengths Finder and Gallup Inc fame!
In 1978 we refiled with the SOS office as a 501(c)(3).
In 1984, we were rebranded as the Nebraska Professional Counselor Association.
Lastly, in 1995 we officially became the Nebraska Counseling Association.
